About Think Wink
Welcome to “Think Wink.”
I am a pastor, student of MBTS, and a theologian in training. As such, I am always learning and expanding my knowledge. I question constantly my own beliefs and that which my professors teach. This blog serves as the vehicle through which I might be able to ask and answer my questions.
But I do not want to just think out loud. I want input from others, both Christian and non-Christian, conservative evangelical and liberal/progressive. I want to see how my own ideas interact with people who don’t share in all of my convictions. Thus I encourage all who read this blog to leave a comment that is encouraging to conversation and to discussion.
The site is called “Think Wink.” “Think” because it is a place for myself to think out loud and with all people who wish to join me. “Wink” because during my stay at Southwest Baptist University, I met one of my closest friends without a theological degree, Alex Edgar and his wife, Allison. Within three weeks of knowing Al, he dubbed me “Winkler” for no reason at all, although I suspect it has something to do with the actor Henry Winkler and the “Fonz.” After a year or so, my name was shortened from “Winkler” to “Wink.”
It is my hope that through this website that Christ can be seen as the sole treasure of the soul through properly understanding his Word, the inerrant and infallible and inspired holy Scripture called the Bible.
