Churches and the Super Bowl

I was reading on FoxNews.com where a church in Indiana was planning a Super Bowl party complete with a big-screen and snacks for about 100 youths. The NFL put a stop to this party saying it violates copyright laws. I didn’t think that the Super Bowl was copyrighted like that.
