If anyone ever thinks Piper is perfect…

One of the most popular authors in mainline Christianity right now is John Piper. His books sell very well, his sermons are powerful and his preaching is riveting. His books are not shallow writings that we usually get from contemporary authors but he challenges us to actually think about verses as he uses cultural and original language as he writes.

But in reality, Piper is only a sinner saved by God’s amazing and sovereign grace. That’s it. When a person is such a prolific writer with such a great impact on lives, we often forget about that. The same thing can be said about any writer in all of Christendom, even the biblical writers (Paul murdered and persecuted the Church, all of Jesus’ 12 deserted him during the arrest and crucifixion and doubted his resurrection when told, Moses was a murderer, David was an adulterer, Abraham a liar).

Here is proof that we must not put anyone but Jesus Christ on a pedal stool because Piper let one slip at this year’s passion conference. This is his apology for saying what he said.
