My New Favorite Site
So yesterday I was browsing the internet trying to look up the Greek text of 1 Peter 2:9
because I didn’t have my GNT with me. I checked out The Greek Resurgence Project (GRP), which you have seen here posting a new passage of the GNT daily, because normally I have used Studylight.org for all of my original language needs. I really hadn’t explored GRP very much until yesterday. Well, now that I have explored it by looking at 1 Peter 2:9
, I can say that this site is probably my favorite. It parses the Greek for you as well as breaks down word usage and gives you several translations to choose from to read, including the newer NET and my personal translation the ESV. This site even gives you the LXX so you can see the Old Testament in the Greek form, the primary OT used in Jesus’, Paul’s and the early church’s day (most early fathers did not read Hebrew and so could not go back to the original languages). I love this site and recommend it to everyone who wants to get into the Greek New and Old Testaments (the LXX will give you a basic understanding of the Hebrew and will show you a valid interpretation of the Hebrew but is no more inspired than the KJV, ESV, TNIV, or NASB). Check it out today.
