When I was a kid, I used to be sad that my parents didn’t let me watch He-Man. All the other kids seemed to have so much fun watching and playing this Battle Cat riding, sword-wielding fantasy hero.

Now having watched an episode, I repent of all my former pouting and coveting.

I’m sorry Henry. What a stupid, shallow program.

Wait, I thought that watching that show would make all of Christendom collapse! (Turmoil in the Toybox – http://www.amazon.com/Turmoil-Toy-Box-Phil-Phillips/dp/0914984047 ) :)

Thanks for showing me that link, my friend. You gonna be in Columbia/Ashland anytime this summer? (Or after I defend?)

Star Trek release weekend is when Olivia has a dance recital. I’m going to watch ST with Dad and Q on May 8. I’ll be in town that weekend.

I tried to watch the show again but it hurt too much. Thundercats, Transformers and G.I. Joe still have that classic entertainment feel to it. He-Man not so much…Kind of embarrassing really.

It was exactly “Turmoil In The Toybox” which was my parents’ guide to discerning which cartoons and toys were not to be allowed in our home.

Then I moved from home, went to college, and became wise in my own eyes. I snickered at my parents’ weak-minded legalism, their lack of redeemed imagination.

Now I’m grateful for parents who loved the truth, and who, by intent or by accident, thus kept me from sub-par animation, canned dialogue, and lame storylines.
